Break Day

Image
So today was school's Spring Break Day, this was met by students with a ride range in opinions but the prevailing one is that one day of break is not enough.  Nevertheless, I set out to have a good day.  I went on walk at one of the State National parks, almost wiped out but with great grace I stayed upright. I sat and watched some birds go back and forth to a feeder.  Then I went to a local thrift store because I was inspired by this video  and so I got my self a 3 dollar picture and set to making it my own (dare I even say better).  Then a liquor store for the first time since turning 21-did I text Jonathan because I was overwhelmed? maybe did I leave with a bottle of vodka for a birthday party on friday? yes! As a little footnote to that story, I mentioned while purchasing that this was my first time buying alcohol since turning 21 and the while line of cashiers wished me a happy birthday and then when I said my birthday was in December they all said h...

Capturing a Unicorn

For those of you that have been following for a while know that last spring I was involved with the Tang Museum's Roommate program. If you are newer, it is a program where you take a piece of art from the museum and live with it for the semester, you can read all about my last experience here! Given the pandemic, I did not have to get up at 4:30 in the morning and wait outside in the Saratoga winter. Instead, I put my name into a lottery and luckily I was pulled 23rd! It was more nerve wracking this time around because we watched the pieces get taken, but it was cool because we really got to see who was going home with each piece. Nevertheless I got to bring home a piece that I am super happy with. I definitely need to do some digging but the name reminds me of the Unicorn Tapestries , which my Honors Forum group discussed in our independent project last semester...

The one with the 4 am fire alarm

Overall I am very happy with my classes, I am just a little less happy with the average of 5 hours in class a day. The 5 hours a day leave me tired and so understandably I go to bed early (well college early 10:30/45pm) and in turn I tend to wake up between 6:30-7:15 am.  You may be wondering, Olivia what do you do with all that time if you don't have class until 10? Great question hypothetical voice! It depends on the weather but almost everyday I go on a walk or a hike and do a little bit of yoga or like today I go food shopping or do laundry. I know, I know very exciting but I am happy and in a good routine.  So the title of the post "the one with the 4 am fire alarm," this past Thursday, I ...
