Happy Memorial Day and almost end of May!
This has been one of the longest may's that I have ever experienced, in part because of the rapidly approaching end to my time at Skidmore and in part some unfortunately timed viruses.
Towards the beginning of May, right in line with the end of classes and beginning of study days, I got pretty sick with what we think was bronchitis. But I got pretty close to losing my voice and was out of commission for a week.
I then recovered enough to participate in senior week, all of the fun activities to celebrate us finishing the end of our college experience. I don't have too many photos from that week, as I was trying much more to be present and enjoy the moments. We attempted to go camping but given a storm warning, we went for the day and did some living room camping, attended fun day (free food, music, games, on the green), last hang outs with friends, and some glamorous photos
Then came the day of graduation. In no particular order, are a series of photos from the breakfast before graduation and the ceremony. The breakfast was for the trustees and those individuals sitting on the platform, I was not on the platform but given my volunteer work as student rep to the alumni board as well as with Senior Gift, I was invited to attend the breakfast! Graduation was very long but very exciting, my only wish is that it hadn't been so hot.
Then that was it. Following graduation was a myriad of celebrations and goodbye's and packing before we moved out. This is a last photo of us before we started to depart. It was weird to need to be out of there so quickly after graduation, but I think I appreciate not being given the time to linger.
It still hasn't quite hit me that my Skidmore chapter is done for now but I am sure it will at some point. I know that it has been hitting in a lot of little ways. Especially on my drive back, hitting so many of the familiar markers!
I then had a couple of normal days before I woke up feeling ill and testing positive for covid. I spent much of this week, reading and watching different things and am now much improved.
Thank you all for your well wishes these past few weeks, it has certainly been a journey but I don't think I would change a thing!
