JY300: Welcome Back to Junior Year

 Hi! 

Welcome back to my blog, it has been a hot minute but there wasn't much to share and I was trying to spend more time away from technology. Additionally there were a few last minute struggles as plans changed, but I am back and relatively settled. 

I moved apartments but am with the same group as last semester but now we live at 11 Cane, but my mailing address is the same (815 N Broadway, Mailbox 2009, Saratoga Springs NY 12866). Much of the past week has been unpacking, rearranging furniture and movie nights but we have now that the semester has actually started we have shifted over to all of the readings and classes. Below are some pictures from my bedroom(with a video tour coming soon!)






This week is "safe shelter" week as the bubble is reconfigured, so unless we are in class, we are meant to be in our residential unit which makes it all the better that I am living in the apartment. There are always smiling faces to come home to!

This semester, I am taking 5 or so classes and have had all but one of them so far. I have enjoyed them all so far but forgot how much school reading that I will actually have to do, which makes Bridgerton by Julia Quinn  a side note for the time being. 

Besides class, homework and meals. There has been a lot of fun times with my housemates, from bananagrams to movies and of course walks, both by myself and with others. We just got a few inches so the whole campus is white and the sky is gray. Here is a picture I took on my walk this morning:

I lost the game! and other fun traditions

One day last week, or maybe it was the week before, was national wear your camp t-shirt day-of which no one (at school) that I know participated. However there is no need to fret because yours truly-super counselor extraordinaire remembered and wore her staff shirt from last summer. This combined with the Hillel retreat where we sang a lot of the end of session songs and an email encouraging us to apply for summer 2020, reminded me of all the little traditions from camp that I wish took place more in my daily life. For my camp friends reading this I hope it doesn't make you too nostalgic, and for everyone else maybe this a way to bring a little bit of fun to the office or maybe the holidays. The pineapple game When you are out with a group of people the first one to point to the pineapple and say I win. Wins. Yep- that's the whole game. I do highly recommend it for group shopping trips as it brings a sense of adventure to what can be a drab day at the mall. Invisible ...

Less Busy

Yesterday I got up and worked on some papers and then around 11 decided to make up my mind for the day. I had a kind bar and hit the road. I went to the Barbican, Postman's Park, and Postal museum The Barbican is a really unique building because it has plants overall the windows. The Postman's Park is much smaller than many parks that I have been to but that there are some titles that describe heroic events live saving children from a fire. Finally the Postal museum was incredible. I didn't think that I would enjoy it nearly as much as I did. Also at the museum, you can ride the mail rail, which is the old mail cart which would run under the city. Overall I had a great time and I was able to walk most of these so I saw many new parts of the city. Today I leave for Derby today to visit a camp friend. Meal Prep and a Movie

This will be brief because I am going to watch a movie with some friends. Today I got up and read in bed for a bit. I then got up and worked out before going foodshopping. I got stuff for the week and also to make Nutella brownies with. They were pretty good, a little gooey but that didn't stop anyone. I then proofread a paper and did more research for AA overall it was a really chill day.
