6 hours of Hillel

So Hillel is hosting a fundraiser to give money to an organization that provides free heart surgery and they needed help.

I didn't have anything else to do after class today so I went and helped.
I got there at 4 and was immediately set to making sugar cookie dough. Then it needed to rest so I helped write cards and ate pizza (this was around 5:40). We chatted for a bit but then it was time to get back to work I then spent the next 4 hours rolling, cutting, and baking cookies. I was mostly with other people which was nice because you know making friends. But I did really enjoy the hour I was alone because I got a system down and whipped through it.  I then cleaned up a bit with Martina ( she is the jewish life coordinator I think) and we chatted. Finally I helped them write some more cards and I left around 10.

The two presidents thanked me so much for staying and helping because I was there the longest out of everyone and I kept telling them it was no problem but it was really nice to be appreciated! I really like the community and a lot of them are like me jew-ISH.

The only downside to helping is my black pants are really disgusting- guess I will be washing them this weekend.


Thats all for now because I am so so so so so tired..

I lost the game! and other fun traditions

One day last week, or maybe it was the week before, was national wear your camp t-shirt day-of which no one (at school) that I know participated. However there is no need to fret because yours truly-super counselor extraordinaire remembered and wore her staff shirt from last summer. This combined with the Hillel retreat where we sang a lot of the end of session songs and an email encouraging us to apply for summer 2020, reminded me of all the little traditions from camp that I wish took place more in my daily life. For my camp friends reading this I hope it doesn't make you too nostalgic, and for everyone else maybe this a way to bring a little bit of fun to the office or maybe the holidays. The pineapple game When you are out with a group of people the first one to point to the pineapple and say I win. Wins. Yep- that's the whole game. I do highly recommend it for group shopping trips as it brings a sense of adventure to what can be a drab day at the mall. Invisible ...

Less Busy

Yesterday I got up and worked on some papers and then around 11 decided to make up my mind for the day. I had a kind bar and hit the road. I went to the Barbican, Postman's Park, and Postal museum The Barbican is a really unique building because it has plants overall the windows. The Postman's Park is much smaller than many parks that I have been to but that there are some titles that describe heroic events live saving children from a fire. Finally the Postal museum was incredible. I didn't think that I would enjoy it nearly as much as I did. Also at the museum, you can ride the mail rail, which is the old mail cart which would run under the city. Overall I had a great time and I was able to walk most of these so I saw many new parts of the city. Today I leave for Derby today to visit a camp friend. Meal Prep and a Movie

This will be brief because I am going to watch a movie with some friends. Today I got up and read in bed for a bit. I then got up and worked out before going foodshopping. I got stuff for the week and also to make Nutella brownies with. They were pretty good, a little gooey but that didn't stop anyone. I then proofread a paper and did more research for AA overall it was a really chill day.
