10 minutes

Today has been a whole lot of nothing. More people have moved in but it has still been pretty quiet.

Now you may be wondering why this is titled 10 minutes. Firstly because almost everything on campus is 10 minutes away from where I am living and secondly I learned that you can get frostbite in around 10 minutes right now.
I learned this from a great email from Res Life

Dear Students,

Welcome back! We are excited to have you back on campus. Unfortunately, the weather is quite chilly.

If you can stay inside, please do so! If not, please take appropriate precautions.

If you decide to venture out of your residence hall or apartment, please be sure to bundle up! According to weather.com and other local forecasts, our area has a wind chill advisory until 6:00 PM. As of right now, the air temperature is 3 degrees, but feels as though it is -16 degrees.

Here is more information, again, from weather.com:

A wind chill warning means that combination of very cold air and wind will create dangerously low wind chill values. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Frostbite can occur quickly and even hypothermia or death if precautions are not taken.

Please be sure to wear clothes suitable for the weather.

The Office of Residential Life is open today until 4:30 PM. Please contact us if you need anything.

Stay warm,

Ann Marie Przywara

Other news I picked up some of my text books. I applied for the honors forum here at Skidmore and am running for the senate of SGA!
Any way I hope you are all staying nice and warm!
