Old Stuff
Lots of Old Stuff, 10/13/18
So today,I got up fairly early and finished packing my stuff from the hostel (10/10 would recommend this hostel to anyone in Rome). I then checked out and headed to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. I walked there in order to get to see more of the city. It was incredible, I actually able to reread my notes from freshman year of Latin and identify most of the structures. I then walked up to the top of the Capitoline Hill and looked down on the ruins. I then walked around a little. I stopped for gelato and bought some postcards and some magnets. I then popped into the train station and made a 1:15 or 13:15 train to Florence. I got in around 2:45 and then did the 30 minute walk to the hotel. I got here and checked in. The room is a downgrade from the hostel but the bathroom is a major upgrade! There is a tube so I even got to take a bath.
Then after I organized some of my stuff and went to see the Ponte Vecchio. It was interesting because it wasn’t what I thought it would be. I was expecting a bridge but it was very built up and lined with shops which was so interesting! I then wandered around a little more and got an early dinner from one of the shops(all the pizza!). I then sat at Plazzo Pitti and did some pizza watching. I even found a restaurant named Olivia but I didn’t end up going there. I then came back a little after 6 and messaged Emily from the Hostel and the people I am meeting up with tomorrow. Then I realized that I am a little sunburnt, whoops and I low key can’t find sunscreen or aloe-gotta wait until London.
