A satisfactory Tuesday

Today was a good day!
I went to the gym and a walk this morning along the canal. I then went to the Wellcome Collection before imagined London. The Collection was very different than I expected-it really focused on the human body and had a whole collection just on teeth. Despite this grossness, I will probably go back because they have a really nice library.

I then walked to IES and by the time I got there I had almost 8k steps Woot Woot!

Imagined London was interesting today because our discussion ranged in many more directions than I was expecting. It is also exciting because we are going on our first site visit on Thursday!

I then ate a quick lunch in the student lounge and went to Starbucks with Aeysha- she only got here Friday because of Visa issues. We had a great conversation and walked together to theater.

In theater, we had our presentation on Exit the King. It was really interesting but that maybe because the show itself was very interesting. Then James led a discussion of his own about it and we began to discuss how every play has at least one action and everyone else is there as an obstacle or a help. However that is not always entirely true to the absurdist comedies.

Next we power walked right on over to Understanding Britain. Today we talked about Media and its affect on a nation. What was interesting is that journalists violated legal bounds and actually interfered with a murder case. They led the police to believe that the girl was still alive because all of her calls were marked read and then deleted. We also discussed, celebrities and whether or not olympic athletes ask to be celebrities.

I then walked back to Chapter with Leanne, Kaliegh, and Heidi. We asked each other all of the getting to know you questions like what is your spirit animal, favorite holiday and others like that. We then went upstairs and Heidi and I continued this line of questioning and then some how we ended up talking about ethical dilemmas and my bioethics class last year. It was intriguing and a fun dinner conversation. I then went and got my letter from Grandma Ei- yes I am feeling better!

I just finished outline my presentation with Lily and now am emailing a professor before bed.
I hope everyone had a great day

  1. How did you like Rhys Ifans in Exit the King? I saw him in an absurdist play called "Accidental Death of an Anarchist" many, many years ago.

    1. I really did! I was less of a fan of his costume plot but they did fit his character stunningly. Interesting that absurdists write about death so much.
