Field Trips and Yoga
Today, I had 2 non-traditional classes.
My first class today was Etap but instead of following our customary lecture-break-discussion, we meet at a tube station and walked over to the Imperial War Museum together. While we were there, we were meant to see the Holocaust Exhibition and the Family During War Time exhibition. I saw both but most didn't. The Holocaust exhibit was well done and I was able to appreciate it so much more than the last time I was there because of Facing History and Etap. What really struck me this time was the model of Auschwitz with all of the people. In comparison the Family During War Time exhibition seemed dull. It was not nearly as interactive as I was hoping, also the family didn't seem as relatable- the walls were covered with complains about not having enough but they were actually very well off. I then headed back to Ies with Morgan, Franca, Leanne, and Heidi.
Side note I had to email Ged about an assignment and the response was overwhelming positive... so I give my self a check plus for successfully emailing a college professor.
My second class, after lunch, was A&A. We had a very brief lecture on William Hogarth and the Foundling Hospital and then we went to the Foundling Museum. You may be thinking to yourself wait didn't you already go there? and the answer is yes. The last time I was there was with my seminar and I had more of a historical perspective- this time the perspective was more art based. I am not entirely sure which I enjoyed more. I think together they created a really strong appreciation for the system that Coram set up and how it is still present today.
I then came back to chapter and started an outline for a paper and finished my Great Expectations reading (if you care I just finished volume two). I then ate an apple and went to yoga club. It was a really good workout and I am sore everywhere. I also learned that I have been doing downward dog wrong this whole time-which is a shame because it is something I have to re-learn. I am now planning on incorporating yoga into my workout routine. I thing my yoga goal may be to be able to do crow by the end of the semester- but we will see.
I think that is all for today. It is currently a little after 10 and I am sitting in bed writing this.
So Goodnight to you and to me
