Fun Day and Sunday

This is an annual Skidmore tradition and it is commonly described as a B- Coachella, with live bands, inflatables, free food and carnival games. This year it hailed for the first hour and then went through waves of sprinkling and sunshine. As part of student government I signed up to work a shift as Sous chef. The first hour of which I had a great time but the second hour was less fun as no one came to replace me. It was a good reminder of camp because everything I wore yesterday day smelled like fire. The rest of the day it seemed like all of the campus was generally in bed but there was a second wave and people went out that night. Sunday, I slept in which was so nice. Since then I have been doing a mix of work and art. I am almost done with a collage. I have also made some significant progress on my anthropology study guide. Soon I am going to have dinner with friends and finish setting my self up for the next couple of days!

The one with 2 projects, an essay and a new watercolor palette

Hi folks Sorry it has been so long-End of the year has been chaotic! As the title of this entry suggests I have been busy. I wrote my last full essay for my classics course and finished two projects in other classes. One of the projects happened to be crafty so I may have ordered myself a watercolor palette. Since its arrived I have done many fun pieces as well as the project which I am including some pictures here! So what's left? Well that is a great question that I honestly am not quite sure what the answer is -Fun Day (a Skidmore Tradition) -An Essay that needs to be revised -Anthropology Exam -Classics Exam -Peer Mentor Meeting I think that is all and that is a lot less than I thought it was going to be. I will try to post more regularly this next week but I make no promises at all. Have a great weekend Me

Life is a Cabaret and the Olympics

Wilkommen   back to my blog! So I just got back from Skidmore's production of Cabaret! I t is super late so I will be very brief. They did a really nice job and the set was fantastic! Although I did not love all the smoking and fog that filled the space. Additionally everyone in the cast was extremely talented and I was very impressed with their voices. What was interesting to me at least is they had the same issue as LHS where you can't hear the performers over the band, which was a little disappointing. My friends loved the costuming but I felt just kind of meh. I felt like the production I had seen at theater three had done a better job but that could be because of the MONEY!    I did like the cohesion between the girls that was lacking at theater three. There was one actress who they needed to be one of the guys but she then did all of the females dances so it felt unnecessary for her to have such a defined mustache but I wasn't in the production to say otherwis...

Catch up and The Met

Sorry the past week has been CRAZY So since I last wrote my stress levels have been all over the place. I finished getting all of my signatures and I went to Speech night and heard from all of the candidates.  The next morning I voted and continued doing work. Handed in a paper that is due next week and hung out with friends. I also got elected Sophomore class senator and made my schedule ( I register Wednesday AM). Mel-People loved the apple cake! Saturday I got up at 6:45 am, which is the earliest I have started moving here in at least 3 weeks. I then got on the bus at 7:15 am and headed off to the big apple. We got to the Met at around 11:30 and then had 30 minutes to go to the bathroom and practice our presentation. My group presented second and did a good job (one of my team mates heard from our professor today that he thought that we were one of the best!). Then for the next two hours or so everyone else presented and the professors pointed out some of their favori...

Welcome to June

Just Kidding- Happy April fool's day and Welcome to April There is a lot going on right now. Mostly with transitions to next year. I am meeting with my advisor to discuss my schedule for next semester. I also am in the process of running for SGA next year which has been a bit stress full because I have to get 150 signatures from my class. I feel bad because everyone running needs a lot of signatures so we kind of overwhelm people like this.  You will see my campaign poster on facebook soon. Besides all of this transition stuff not a lot is going on but this does keep me busy have no concern about that! Anyway have a great first week of April Me
